Several reports have vouched that Cloud is one of the hottest tech careers in 2016. In fact Zinnov claims that India will be a hotspot when it comes to hiring tech professionals. According to a Zinnov study, India will grow at 45 per cent CAGR to USD14.8 billion in 2020. The study estimates that the private Cloud market will increase to USD7.4-7.6 billion in 2020. The public Cloud market is expected to grow to an almost of equivalent size at USD7.0-7.4 billion in 2020.
Cloud will grow at this fast pace for various reasons.

Dell's Global Technology Adoption Index indicates that Cloud adoption is uniquely driven by expectations of greater organisational speed and employee satisfaction. Additionally, cloud use continues to increase globally from 79 per cent in 2014 to 82 per cent in 2015. For organisations utilising Cloud technology globally, the top three benefits experienced include: cost savings (42 per cent), getting things done faster (40 per cent) and better allocation of IT resources (38 per cent). Clearly, Cloud is no longer just a buzz word. It is a realityand hence it is 'the' career option for IT professionals, where the real career growth lies.

1. Basic understanding of IT infrastructure:Migrating data from on-premises infrastructure to Cloud requires an understanding of the IT infrastructure. Given the fact that the CIOs are still unsure about the feasibility of cloud for various applications, there is a significant demand of professionals with the skills to facilitate this migration.
2. Ability to work on databases: A decent understanding and ability to work on database languages such as SQL, MySQL, Hadoop, and Cassandra is important for a career in Cloud. 
3. Ability to program in most common languages:A Cloud professional should have the ability to program on most common languages for cloud computing such as JavaScript, Pearl, Python, etc. Being familiar with multiple programming languages will help in the long term career prospects.
4. A good hang of Linux platform: Cloud is majorly dominated by the Linux platform. Considering the fact that Linux continues to have significant presence in the Cloud world, it is imperative to have fantastic skills to work on Linux platform.
